The Jinan Yuxing Chemical Co, Ltd was founded in 1919 and is now a direct subsidiary of the China National BlueStar (Group) Co, Ltd and a third-tier subsidiary of ChemChina, China’s largest producer of comprehensive chemicals. It has become one of the major domestic chromium-titanium chemical bases. Its two leading products -- chromic anhydride and titanium dioxide – have excellent performance and stability and have a good reputation in the domestic market, and are gaining in popularity overseas.
The company’s rutile titanium dioxide plant, which was established in 2011, has a production capacity of 100,000 tons per year and is China’s most advanced production unit using the sulfuric acid method, as well as for the entire Asia-Pacific region. This has given Yuxing Chemical a leading position in the titanium dioxide industry.
Yuxing plans to expand its annual production capacity over the next three to five years, to 300,000 tons, and develop a diverse range of products to meet customer demand. It is working hard to make itself into an exemplary enterprise in the titanium dioxide business in China and ultimately to gain renown around the globe.
The company’s chromic anhydride products are an industry benchmark and it is using clean technology to improve the current production line with a calcium-free roasting process. The company is applying some brand-new, sub-molten salt liquid phase oxidation technology, which it developed in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to increase chromium salt production and bear technological fruit. This new, patented technology is completely different from the traditional method, with high resource utilization and reduced chromium residue pollution.
In November 2011, the Ministry of Science and Technology added a clean chromium salt project that uses this technology, with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons, as part of its key scientific development projects in the National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program) under the 12th Five-Year Plan.
This technology reflects the company’s level of development and its originality and means that it can produce top quality products, with high technical index globally, and achieve greater utilization of chromate resources along the entire production process.
