Jinan Yuxing’s DCS team recently received the Youth Civilization Unit award at the operation and maintenance center after a yearlong inspection in 2012.
The team is the most dynamic and pioneering at Jinan Yuxing and its members are all well-educated. It focuses on automated production safety and stability. The team members all have innovative minds and have done a good job in daily management, system maintenance, operating control, process optimization and safety awareness improvement. Their job performance has been highly recognized by the company.
Since the new plant was established, the new units required higher automation technology and the old DCS system was a far cry from the one found in major production units, which employees urgently needed to learn how to use. Under the leadership of Zhang Qingxin, company secretary, the DCS team worked very hard to improve their professional knowledge and mastered all the basic operations within a very short time, which helped meet the production task.
In 2011, they took over the automatic control system of boilers and the sulfuric acid manufacturing unit and were in charge of overall automated productions across the company. In addition, team members continued to learn from each other and help new recruits get familiar with the working process and professional knowledge, all of which has helped win the team widespread praise from leadership and colleagues.
As a technical team, innovation is very important. As a result, the team has been actively engaged in production and process innovation. They have achieved a lot in optimization and improvement work. The team has designed various automated control systems, such as the hydrolysis automated control system, heating and feeding automated control system in bleaching, brining automated control system, sound-light alarm system, waste acid and wastewater valve automatic switchover system, seed crystal automatic heating system, boiler drum liquid level automatic adjusting system, and the multi-screen display in titanium dioxide production and DCS data collection system. They have greatly raised production efficiency, product quality and system safety.
One of the team’s projects won first prize and three of its automated control systems won second prize at the science and technology progress award in 2012. The team has helped Bluestar raise its loop automatic control rate from 67 percent to 90 percent, turning 46 manual projects into automatic ones, optimizing 75 loops, and formulating 23 control plans.
The DCS team has also made full use of spare time to do recreational sports activities, where members can interact with each other and feel the warmth and harmony within the group. In this way, team members are fully mobilized and team cohesion is enhanced.
The Youth Civilization Unit award asks for dedication to work and selfless contribution, and DCS team members have borne that in mind. They adhere to morality and devote themselves to work. Every member has gained experience at work to help themselves grow. Getting the award will greatly boost DSC team morale and prompt them to make greater achievements in future.
