The Jinan Yuxing Chemical Co started its 1st Table Tennis Competition, a three-day event, on Dec 26, with He Yu, from the No 1 Titanium Dioxide Shop, taking the men’s singles title, and Li Xin from the Party’s Branch No 2 taking the women’s singles. The company’s Party secretary and GM, Wen Hongtao, joined labor union chairman and deputy GM, Li Dong, in presenting the awards. The event embodies the true sporting spirit of “Friendship first, competition second” and the participants really seemed to enjoy the event itself instead of the results. It also increased friendship among workers and improved their table tennis skills. But, more important still, it displayed the perseverance and unity of the company’s employees.
